I have a fondness for herbaceous aromas, so for nearly 40 years I have been using the same two hair oils on my hair and scalp, Medicinal and Herbal. I would go back and forth the between these two oils.

This past week I had my hair braided at Khamit Kinks in single braids with extensions for the first time in fifteen years. When braiding with extensions Khamit Kinks stylists use Anu Essentials hair oils on their hands as a lubricant. This prevents dryness of their hands, causes less friction on the hands, and protects their hands while they’re braiding.  One of the stylists decided to use the newly formulated Honeysuckle on her hands.  When the aroma hit my nose my initial reaction was to request that she use Medicinal, but as the moments went by, I was joyously converted. This fourth iteration of Honeysuckle is a keeper. You should know that there is no real honeysuckle oil as the delicate petals of honeysuckle flowers are destroyed in the distillation process.  It has been my mission to approximate the aroma of this flower’s essence by blending a mélange of other essential oils.  The version before this last creation refused to physically blend well.  Instead, the oils would separate and you could see them lying on the bottom of the bottle.  The only way around the separation would have been to use alcohol and that is not a nurturing option for hair and scalp; so it was back to the drawing board. If you appreciate earthy fragrances you must try our new Honeysuckle.  In addition to earthiness, there is a sublime sweetness. Smelling this new version on my own hair I was influenced to change my preference and that is significant!  When I awakened the day after my hair was braided, there was this lovely aroma. I thought to myself, what is that?  Then I realized it was my own hair I was smelling and it smelled so alluring.  Ooh la la!I was reminded that change can be good.  This new Honeysuckle Hair Oil is a reminder that it’s good to get out of our comfort zone and try something different from time to time. The next time you’re in the salon please take a sniff of the new Honeysuckle or feel free to drop me a note requesting a Honeysuckle sample with your next order.Flower power!!!  Thank you Nereshte and Fatou for my fab braids. [/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
