Frankincense and Myrrh
One of the things I will always remember from my Christian upbringing are the gifts given to the precious baby in a manger, known as Jesus. Since the Three Wise Men knew of his significance, that he would be bringing with him an illuminated Light of God, they brought those items with the highest vibration ~ frankincense, myrrh and gold as gifts. Those same resins from ancient trees are still as precious today as they were all those centuries ago, as is gold. The frequency and vibration they emit remain ethereal and high.
As a child, that was one of the things I liked most about the Catholic Church, how it smelled. Their use of frankincense on the church’s altar intrigued me. I imagine the fragrance brought up recessed memories of ancient Khamit. Today, like so many centuries ago, frankincense continues to be a very highly vibrational substance, uplifting, clearing and healing the environment, the spirit and the mind.
Living in older dwellings (twenty-plus years), they are bound to have old smells that can rise when it’s hot and humid outdoors. They can also rise when it’s raining or very damp outside. For instance, in a hundred-year-old house, even with new paint, sanded floors, and newly renovated bathrooms and kitchens, it will never smell like a new home. Even if you gut it, old scents will rise. Your home doesn’t have to be a hundred years old to have old scents and vibrations rise from previous tenants and owners. I recommend mitigating that energy by clearing and cleansing it with these sacred resins. If you have a newly built home, infusing it with frankincense is such an auspicious way of blessing it.
Frankincense and Myrrh are “the heavy arsenal” to the rescue; I use both to lift the vibration and clear out old stagnant energy, ideas, emotions and thoughts. Those things can also linger in a space. I even brought them to my mother’s rehabilitation center which hadn’t been updated since the 60s and had a heavy, old, dank smell and energy. I burned frankincense in her room, but the entire building needed spiritual fumigation to help lift that heavy energy. We quickly transferred her out of there. How can you truly heal in a place with that kind of vibration? It’s possible but will take more effort, time and energy than necessary.
Frankincense and myrrh have been used in healing since the dawn of time and are still being used today in everything from mouthwash to healing balms and homeopathy. They all have healing properties, as do most elements from the earth. Frankincense is used in several Anu Essentials perfumes. It’s been used in perfumery since time immemorial, though they are typically dosed in minute amounts that are not perceptible by the untrained nose. It’s one of the base notes (smells that last the longest) that has a clear and sparkling aroma. Most base notes have a deep and heavy scent profile (think patchouli). Our perfumes with perceptible frankincense and myrrh include Meadow Lark, Shaman, and soon-to-be-released Sterling. Also, frankincense is in our Will Power Spritzer and Centering Spritzers. Those are for the body. If you need clearing, cleansing and inspiring energy in your home, I highly recommend burning frankincense and or myrrh to lift the vibration and inspire you, your home and your family.
